Philip Riggs' Four Success Tips

1. Work hard. 2. Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing. 3. Don't chase after money. 4. Serve others. Do good things for others, and good things will come to you.

I agree with his methods of thinking and being successful. This is because if you work hard for what you really want in life, sooner or later they will come to you. And following your passions is a big part of being successful. This is because if you do something you don't and won't be happy with why do it? So do something you are most passionate about. Do all these things for you and your happiness don't just think about money and how rich but unhappy you will be. Also if you are a good person to others then good things will come your way.

Color Guard

Currently I am trying out for color guard. So far I am liking it and having a good time. Also I wanted to join this because it has dancing and trains you for like military bases. It also teaches you to have manners and keep you in good condition. My tryouts are this Thursday, I am pretty nervous but yet exited to make the team. I feel like I am doing well and I am trying my best to be the best, so I really hope I make the team. So far the part I am having problems with is the drills, maybe this so because they go fast but I feel like I got this. I know the commands and the phases we have to respond to. Color guard has taught me to be a strong hard working women. I wish for the best to happen this Thursday so I can be a part of Marquez Color Guard.

I think this quote means that if you work hard for what you want, sooner or later you will achieve it. If you have a goal set, don't just sit there, you need to work hard for it. You need to work for it because it is not going to come to you, you have to go to that goal. By putting a lot of effort you will get great things out of it no matter the circumstances. All you have to do it choose the right and make right decisions. The image below shows that you need to strive for what you want and not give up just because others are. You just have to stay positive about everything.

My Desires

One of my desires is being dependent to myself. Thinking this way, I believe I will get to my goals. Currently my top goals right now are, graduating from high school, going to college, and own a house in Malibu or a nice area. Some of my hobbies are dancing, music, running, and working out. I enjoy doing these things with a passion. This is because when I run I feel like I'm chasing my goals. And when I dance is like I am free and I feel like I'm living. Working out is a hobby  of mine because I do it to stay fit and to get my mind off of things as well. My reaching my goals I need to stay positive about it.

This quote means that what "cool" people think is "cool" is not always a right thing to do. And even when people do right things that other people might not find cool to do is not a bad thing. So it does not matter if you are doing something good and if you are alone at it because you are doing something you like. Also not because "cool" people are drinking and smoking does not make is good to do. So you should follow your own path because it all depends on you.

"I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that(poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change that." by Dr. Ben Carson

Dr. Ben Carson tells us that his family was financially struggling. His mother cleaned houses for living, she noticed other families and their children reading. Ben did not like to read, but he began to learn many things. It was little after that he knew he could help himself out of poverty by working harder. He began to read more and apply sense to the world around him. After, he graduated high school and became a surgeon who separated conjoined twins. If someone is in this same situation, they should be inspired to work harder so that in the future they do not face economic struggles. In the future, success will bring you happiness to know that you studied so hard most of your life, and you reached your goals. When you focus on school, education offers many opportunities for us to follow the path of success. Just like Dr. Ben Carson was successful by doing good in school, I plan to follow his footsteps by doing my best in school.

Dean Smith is trying to say that all he did was do what is right. His intentions weren't to have any attention or rewards out of it. This quote is trying to tell us that we should start doing what is right and not only to get a reward from it. We must do right things to make ourselves feel proud and have the courage to do better. So in other words we should make right choices that help others and encourage them to. And not be those type of people who want to get rewarded just by doing something that they think is correct. Dean Smith was an honest man and explained what he had felt. He also showed it to his team and to others all around. Choosing the right and making things right is what Dean Smith would do. Being kind is another thing Dean Smith did because he wasn't a selfish man. 

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you." by Dr. Randy Pausch

I think this quote means that if you make good choices in your life, there is no need to worry about getting to your goals. Also that if you lead your life well, all the good luck and fortune will come to you. If people try to bring you down and you keep on making right choices, the carma will hit them back. So you won't have to worry about those kind of people. Choosing the right can get you to where your goals are. But if you make wrong decisions in your life, you might not get at all close to your goals. Being friendly to others is a big part of achieving your goals. This is because if you need someones help, you want to ask someone for that kind of help. So by living your life well and making the correct and feel-better decisions will get you to your goals. But it is all you, you are the one who can decide if you want your goals to come to you.

This quote means that when you do great things in life people will remember you as the one that did something excellent. Some people for example are sort of gold diggers. That no one likes because people do not want their money taken away from someone else. You have to earn money that is why you should make a good name for yourself. If you make a bad name for yourself, like being a gold digger, people will not want to talk to you or they will talk bad about you. Some examples of making a good name for yourself is, being nice, work hard, patience, and being carring. If you follow these steps, people will look up to you and the universe will rewaard you. Examples of having a bad name for yourself is disrespecting others, impatient, unloyalty, and lazyness. People will look at you ina bad way not just physically but mentally to. Sure you should not care what others think, but you should do these great things for yourself, to make yourself proud.

On some ways my habbits may par with my dreams. Only sometimes though because at times I may do wrong things and I might not notice doing them. Although I do have some habbits that will help me accomplish my dreams. Like sometimes I tend to make people laugh and have a good time myself, and I also help people as in adults as in being kind to myself and to others. My grades are a big part of my dreams because if I have bad ones I can not accomplish my dreams. This quote really means that you should do the right thing if you want to make your goals come true. Lets say you do something bad to someone else, you are going to face the consequences sooner or later because what comes around, goes around. So, to make my dreams succeed I will try to choose wisley on what I do, say, and react. The picture at the bottom represents that you should always have a possitive mind and personality for your dreams to come true. That is exactly what I am going to do from now on to make my dreams and goals come true.

In my belifs I think John Wooden is tring to say that since people knew he was a basketball player and a coach, that is the only way his fans know him. In other words he is trying to say that he wants people to know him by his personality and the way he is. Some famous people are taken for granted because they are famous, and maybe that is why he came up with a quote like this so that people will get to know the famous my the way they are.
